Dear Fellow Laborers in the Harvest,
Jesus always spoke of truth as the agent of freedom. Jesus is the Truth (John 14:6) that sets us free, yet the Spirit of Truth (John 14:17) and the Word of Truth (John 17:17), are essentials in the works of Freedom's Truth.
Throughout all times, and even in these days, Satan has been involved in the deception of counterfeiting God's truth. False religions that use the Bible, perversely take it out of context, leading to false doctrine and lies about God's Word.
The rising threat of ecumenism, which leads to universalism, is a threat to the truth of the Bible. Many Evangelical churches and denominations are falling for the schemes of the devil, by accepting or tolerating the ECT (Evangelicals and Catholics Together) document and the ecumenical move of universalism.
The North American Mission Board (NAMB, formerly HMB) conducts training on understanding the doctrines of many false religions. Interfaith Witness Seminars (IFWS) are designed as equipping seminars for our SBC, State Conventions, associations, and churches, so that we might understand the false teachings of false religion, and become better equipped to witness to precious souls which are caught up in such fallacy. Among the many false religions that Christians should be aware of, is the religion of Catholicism. The Roman system of sacramentalism is a false gospel. It is in fact a gospel of works, which is not the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, the end result for anyone following this teaching is eternal separation from God. Through a training seminar conducted by NAMB, you have the opportunity to be trained in understanding the doctrines of Catholicism. You will also have the opportunity to certify as a teacher of Catholic doctrine through follow-up assignments. However, you may benefit from the seminar even if you have no desire to certify.Louisiana is one of the most formidable strong-holds of Roman Catholicism in the United States. Unless we get serious about reaching these people with the truth of the gospel, they will perish into the Lake of Fire.
Through these certification efforts, our goal is to put together a local team that will be available to conduct seminars and train at request, in churches and associations throughout our Louisiana Baptist Convention.
The result of this effort could make one of the greatest evangelistic impacts our state has ever known. Please mark you calendar for September 22 & 23. The seminar conducted by NAMB's Interfaith Witness Department and Dr. Bill Gordon will perhaps be one of the most inspirational training events of your life.The place the seminar will be held is FBC Raceland, La. (121 Willow St.). The city of Houma, only 12 miles away, has fine motel accommodations.
Raceland is a strong-hold of Romanism, and FBC is willing to allow God to equip its members for the task of evangelizing those entrapped in Catholicism. We must rescue the perishing, we must care for the dying!Please make every effort to attend this special seminar, which will not only further
develop your own evangelism skills, but will ultimately change the destiny of souls from
lost to found, to the Glory of God.
Feel free to share this with any and all. This is an open invitation!
May our Lord bless us as we strive together to join Him in His work.
With a Heart of Passion for Reaching Roman Catholics,
In Jesus' Love,
=====================================================
Dear friends,
Isnt it encouraging to know that there are those who are willing to pay the price to love people into the Kingdom of God? We thank the Lord that there is a growing movement towards being more forthright about the Gospel with our precious Roman Catholic people.
Roman Catholics make up the largest religious group in Louisiana, in the United States, and in the world. Those who trust in a sacramental false gospel of religious works comprise the largest mission field in the world. The historic mission of Southern Baptists is to share the true Gospel of Christ Jesus with all people, which, of course, includes Roman Catholics.
Amazingly, this is the very "mission" specifically assigned to our church when we were established by SBC missionaries back in 1936. By Gods grace we are still in the center of that assignment, still focussed on that same urgent mission.
Please let us take this opportunity to thank you for helping us, for praying for us, for giving to help keep us going and to extend the Lords work from here all around the world. Thank you for being a part of what God is doing in and through our little group of believers. We praise God for you.
The members of Bayou DuLarge Baptist Church
=====================================================Notable Quotable...
"As an evangelical, I believe that the Roman Catholic Church is a false church and it teaches a false gospel. Indeed, I believe that the pope himself holds a false and unbiblical office." Pope John Paul II has redefined Christianity and the gospel... "He has actually embraced all monotheists, both Jews and followers of Islam as long as theyre sincere."
