Catholics and Biblical Truth On March 29, 1994, for the national news media, Charles Colson and Catholic priest Richard Neuhaus announced the signing of an ecumenical document titled "Evangelicals and Catholics Together: The Christian Mission in the Third Millennium." Nineteen leading evangelicals and twenty Roman Catholic scholars signed the agreement, which some have favorably called a historic declaration of trust between formerly opposed religious communities. Others have condemned the document as a sell-out of the gospel and a betrayal of the Protestant Reformation. Marking the five-year anniversary of the signing of the original document (ECT 1), ECFC presents ECT+5, a conference to address the critical issues and consequences of ECT 1 and its sub-sequent agreement, ECT 2: "The Gift of Salvation." Authors John Ankerberg (Protestants & Catholics: Do They Now Agree?), Dave Hunt (A Woman Rides the Beast), and pastor/teacher Dr. S. Lewis Johnson are featured conference speakers, which include leaders of ministries dedicated to evangelizing Roman Catholics. S. Lewis Johnson’s career as pastor, educator, author and Bible scholar has been long and fruitful in the service of our Lord. For many years Dr. Johnson was Professor of New Testament Theology at Dallas Theological Seminary; currently he may be heard through the international radio ministry of "The Believer’s Bible Hour."
