Some of our readers have expressed interest in where they can find more information on documents referred to in our latest RADEN Report.

"Dominus Iesus" ...is an official Vatican document issued from Rome in August 2000. It may be found on the Vatican website at:

"Evangelicals and Catholics Together: The Christian Mission in the Third Millennium" ...is the foundational document of the ecumenical ECT Alliance, published in 1994, and is often referred to as "ECT-I."

"Evangelicals and Catholics Together: The Gift of Salvation" ...is the second ECT document (ECT-II) published in 1997.

The third ECT document "Evangelicals and Catholics Together: Your Word is Truth" has been announced by ECT participants Richard Neuhaus and Timothy George, but has not yet been published. In light of the current public news media coverage of the sex-scandal within the RCC, it would seem quite likely that ecumenical leaders of the ECT Alliance may postpone publication of this document.

Typically, official Roman Catholic statements of theological positions are long, laborious reads, so few folks bother to try to read and understand such documents. "Dominus Iesus," at a mere 17 pages of text, is short by comparison, and is not difficult to understand. It's heresy should be obvious to any student of the Bible.

Another official RCC publication that is also fairly easy to understand is the most recent edition of the "Catechism of the Catholic Church" found on the Vatican website at http://www.vatican.va/archive/catechism/ccc_toc.htm
